How To Use Videos To Build Your E-mail List

If you have spent any time recently on internet marketing
forums, you cannot have failed to notice the burgeoning interest
in online video. Google’s high profile acquisition of YouTube
has brought video right into the public eye. With YouTube it is
possible to create a video, and then paste some code into your
own site, and have the video play there. If you do this, you can
have the video play with a squeeze box right underneath it. Your
video content will explain to the viewer what is to be gained by
signing up. This can be a powerful showcase for whatever you
have to offer.

As well as having video play on your own site, you can leave a
large number of videos on video submission sites with your URL
displayed in the video. This can be as simple as having
yourself, or someone from your business, stand in front of a
board with your URL on it, just as sports interviews are carried
out with the participants standing in front of a board with the
sponsor’s name on. You can go to far greater lengths than that
if you want to. If you have the right software, you can create a
“ghost” URL in front of the whole video. Any time these videos
are seen, there is a chance that the viewer will go on to visit
your site.

As well as standard video shot with a video camera, there are
other possibilities. You can create a video using Camtasia or
Camstudio which will use screen capture. These videos can be
added to video sharing sites, and they are especially useful on
your own site, where you can demonstrate your own products right
in front of your customer’s eyes, whenever they want to see
them. At the end of a Camtasia video, you can have the page
redirected to any page you choose, which should obviously be
your sign up page.

ore and more companies are strengthening their online presence by using a combination of online and offline marketing tools and techniques. Search engine optimization, presence on social media as well as YouTube and MySpace promotions can serve as powerful tools in your website marketing arsenal. First party advertising is important but always suffers from lack of credibility. Customers sit up and take notice when other people talk about your products and services. Not only does this popularize your services, but also increases your ranking on search engines due to the increasing inbound links it provides. This article talks about some common techniques to do this and how they work.

What is SEO?

SEO marketing or search engine optimization is increasing one’s company’s ranking on search engines as different from the paid advertisements that also feature alongside. Research shows that most people do not go beyond the first page of links thrown up. In fact most limit their search to the first few links when they are searching for content after which they change the search string. To be present on these first few links or at least the first page is therefore crucial to ensure getting clicked upon. SEO marketing helps achieve that by understanding the techniques by which these engines work to throw up links and mapping your site content and design accordingly.

How Does Search Engine Optimization Work?

Most rankings are based on two things. Relevancy of site content and number of inbound links. While the first parameter is important in terms of giving the customer necessary information, the second helps rate the popularity of the information given. So in layman terms, SEO services help companies rewrite their site content in line with commonly used search strings. For example if restaurants are to improve their ratings, they will do well to have popular menu items that are used as search strings on their content. As regards inbound links, more the reviews and blogs that link back to the site, better the rating chances by the search engine spider.

What Other Means Of Promotion Exist in Online Marketing?

Linked closely to search engine optimization, yet a tool in its own right is presence on social media and networking sites. More and more people are spending time on Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, etc. not to mention following twitter updates religiously. Using a subtle approach, one can leverage these sites to promote one’s own products and services. It is however important to enlist a professional services company which specializes in this and has the necessary number of accounts to create a difference.

Online marketing is perhaps more challenging than offline media use because of the huge number of cross leverages and opportunities that it provides. Email marketing is yet another cheap and effective system to market one’s company online. This can be in the form of informative newsletters and more customized email updates that link back to one’s website. At the end of the day, the idea is to increase the number of hits and visitors to the desired page. In summary it is important for any company to engage in Search engine optimization services for a credible web branding exercise. If people don’t know where you are or what you do, chances are they will not be buying very much from you.

How to Quickly and Easily Leverage Social Media to Build a Big List (Part 2 of 2)

In Part 1 of this article series, we talked about what social media sites are and how they can be used together to drive traffic, get links and build your list. But we didnt get into any details so were going to pick up where we left off and discuss your social media marketing strategy.

1) Register and Start Networking ASAP.

Social media sites are by their definition places where you network, socialize and get in contact with those of like minds. That means you cant hold a one-way conversation where you lecture to your prospects and participate in activities that will directly benefit you.

As such, that means you need start networking and participating on these sites before you start doing those things that directly benefit you. For example:

* Comment on and rate videos on video-sharing sites like YouTube before you start posting your own videos.

* Comment on and rate other peoples content before you start bookmarking your own content on Digg, StumbleUpon, ReddIt, and similar.

* Comment on and rate other peoples content while you are building your own Squidoo Lens or HubPages.

If you become a part of the community first, then youll be able to grow a good reputation quickly. This makes you more authoritative and influential when you do start submitting and bookmarking your own content. And that means more traffic, fast.

2) Start Sharing Quality Content

Once youve helped other members and contributed to the community, then its time to start contributing your own quality content. That means you can share videos, bookmark your pages and build your content sites. You can also run a blog on these sites, start niche groups and similar.

3) Network with Like Minded Others

You may find plenty of prospects on these social networking sites, which is why you should work to get people on your mailing list. But dont forget that you may also find potential joint venture partners on these sites so network accordingly.

4) Commit to Doing Something Every Day

Finally, you should commit to doing one social media marketing activity every day. For example, load a new video, create a new Squidoo page or answering five questions on Yahoo! Answers.

The reason for this consistency is because the more you do, the more traffic youll get and the faster youll build your list. See, you cant just do social marketing for one day and expect it to pay off for months. But you can do just a little bit every day and watch as it pays you handsomely every day.
