Social Network Marketing Strategies
Author : Jason Rushton
Social networks are sites that are designed as a place for groups of people to hang out and communicate online. It’s an easy way to meet new people, and to stay in contact with your friends and family. There are literally hundreds of these sites with Facebook, and Myspace are just a few of the more popular ones. So having said this, no where have I mentioned marketing.
So what is social network marketing and how should it be done? Well in a nutshell Social network marketing is marketing your product service etc.. via social networking sites. While this sounds simple in nature it can be a very tricky concept to master. If you join some of these social networking sites, and start sending an posting messages like hey look at my new product, or go here and buy this you are either going to get banned from the service or create a bad reputation for yourself and you will ultimately be ignored.
Let’s think about it this way. Say there is a group of people meeting at the local mall. You walk up to that group and say hey guys would you like to buy this _______ from me it’s the best_____ there ever was. Their going to look at you kind of weird and either tell you to get lost or they will move somewhere else. It’s really no different on social networking sites. These are real people gathered together it’s just a different medium.
So how would you approach this group of people if they were in the mall lets say? One way is that you would politely walk up and introduce yourself and become part of their conversation. (It might be a little awkward at first, but after being part of the conversation for just a little while you are now one of the group). Maybe another way is you hang around and eavesdrop on their conversation until you hear them talking about a conversation that you have some useful information to add, or you have the answer to a question that they are discussing. At this point you could step in and politely offer your opinion on the discussion.
In the end Social network marketing is not that much different from other forms of marketing in the sense that no one likes the in your face approach. It is best to build trust and be there to help when they need it and when it comes time to buy, they will feel obligated to buy from you. The main difference with social network marketing is that people feel that it is more private, so really you have to be extra careful and tactful when trying to enter into a new group of people.
Recently I had the pleasure of being taught the principles of social network marketing by Bob Yeager. Bob has an amazing sense of how people work, and really knows how to help people and give them what they want and need. Bob’s main focus is helping others and the rest takes care of itself.

Multi-level marketing
A Multi-level marketing (MLM) business model, also called Network Marketing, is a strategy in which the parent company sells or markets products directly to customers by direct selling and relationship referrals. The parent company here is responsible for all the management involved.
The parent company is represented by unsalaried, independent salespeople often called associates or distributors, independent owners, dealers, franchise owners, consultants, independent agents, etc. The distributors get a commission which is based on the volume of products and services sold through their corresponding individual independent businesses or organization.
Independent distributors operate by building a customer base that is active who at their end buy directly from the parent company, or they operate by recruiting more people and bringing them into the business as independent distributors. These people are known as downline of the distributor and they also can do the same thing themselves thereby exponentially expanding the organization they are part of.
Independent distributors may earn a reasonable commission on their sales efforts or that of their organization and their own individual effort. This commission comes from their own sales efforts and the sales efforts that are done by their downline as part of leveraging. The arrangement is comparable to franchise arrangements.
The various compensation plans devised by the Multi level marketing companies over a period of time are as follows:
Stairstep Breakaway plan: In this model distributors stand responsible for doing both personal volume as well as the sales volumes of the group. More retails and distributors create the volumes and as process also exist to scale the distributors up in the hierarchy chain.
Matrix plan: This plan simulates a matrix to form a distributor hierarchy. To implement this, a small number of representatives are placed on the first level of the matrix. Once the maximum amount of people have been recruited to fill the first level positions, the next recruits are then placed in other lower level or downline positions. Matrix implantation has a pre- defined depth and width. When the width and depth of a matrix are filled a newer matrix is usually started..
Binary plan: A binary plan is a marketing compensation plan that encompasses many levels. Each distributor is allowed to have two distributors in their front-line. If a scenario comes up in which a distributor may sponsor more than two other distributors, those distributors are recruited at the next level below the sponsors front line. The “spillover” is a salient feature of this plan and due to this feature new people only need to sponsor two distributors to become eligible for the compensations.
Hybrid plan: A hybrid plan combines characteristics of various types of compensation.
Increase Traffic to Your Site Free
Author : Garrett Laidler
I’ve been marketing online for around 3 years now, and have made a considerable income doing so. Now the biggest problem I see with most new internet marketers is being able to increase traffic to their site, or get any traffic at all. You hear of people all the time going months or even years, marketing online, and never seeing any traffic or money for their efforts for that matter. There’s a good chance these people aren’t leveraging the free traffic tactics to bring a lot of traffic in!
First and foremost, one of the quickest ways to increase traffic for your site is to write articles. Now there are SEVERAL online articles submission sites. My personal favorites are EzineArticles, GoArticles, and Amazines. Now, like I said, there is a ton of free submission sites you can submit to, to increase the traffic to your site.
I was having a real hard time getting my articles submitted at first, and then my mentor, Darren Salkeld, told me to just write as though I was giving people information. This is more like writing a review as a third person about your product or service. When I changed my thinking about writing these articles, my submission rate sky rocketed. One the posts I recently wrote received one hundred and sixty views in the first hour of submitting it.
Now obviously that example is a little out of the ordinary, but even if your getting twenty hits a week on one article, what happens when you have a hundred articles revolving somewhere online. The possibilities are astronomical.
Another way to get free traffic to your site is social media sites. Social media sites include sites like Facebook, Myspace, BeBo, etc. Facebook alone gets 18 million views a day. Social network marketing has opened up the playing field for beginner and guru a like. The plain has now been leveled and you can disguise the limit.
A third way to bring in some free traffic is through videos or “attraction marketing”. Videos are huge because it gives that personal relationship to the people watching because they can see you, and feel out what your all about. This is a must now a days because you have to make relationships with people. I’m sure you’ve heard of YouTube. This is the first place I would start with. This site is in the top ten most visited sites on the web. It accounts for over 60% of all videos watched on the internet and gets more than 100 million hits per day. If you can’t see the potential here you need to be doing something else with your time.
Now these by no means are all tactics at getting free traffic to your site, but they are a good start. More to come stay tuned in the next few days!
