You have just discovered over 30 Yahoo groups with tons of members who fit perfectly into your target market. You then start the joining process, and are accepted to all 30 groups because you tell the moderator that you have “something to add” to the community.
You then purchase some simple software that will automate your Yahoo Groups postings for you. Each day you then proceed to post your “contribution” to all 30 groups. So, what does this mean that you should do in Yahoo Groups? This means that you should actually take the time to contribute to the group instead of just placing advertisements. If you make a contribution to the group, then it will be viewed as o.k. to maybe mention your website at the end of your contribution. People will then appreciate what you have added to the group and then will probably click through to your website. In most groups, this is the acceptable way of doing things.
Now, there is one more really great way of marketing with Yahoo Groups the right way. Many people don’t want to use this method because it actually involves work. But, if you get through the “hard” part of this process, then you will start to get tons of free traffic and leads, right through Yahoo Groups!
This really effective way of obtaining free traffic and leads is by actually taking the time to start and grow your own group. If you create a great group, and work hard to grow it, then eventually the group will take on a life of its own. But why? Because generally very few people want to be part of a “small” group. But if someone sees a group of 1,000 people who share a common interest, then that is a great group to join! So, if you take the effort to grow your group to a certain number, then the group will then start to grow more and more without much effort on your part. And then comes the cool part: You will be able to “spam” your own group! And the really great thing is that people won’t even see your advertisements as spam since these messages are coming straight from the group moderator.
